I’m excited and a little apprehensive. The first trailer for the forthcoming Les Miserables movie has arrived and it’s our first chance to see if Tom Hooper’s adaptation is going to be a classic or if it will break the heart of fans of the musical. The trailer features Anne Hathaway’s Fantine with her signature song “I Dreamed A Dream”. Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Javert, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Eddie Redmayne as Marius and Samantha Barks’ Eponine all make fleeting appearances but we still don’t know how they sound. First impressions though are good. Hathaway can carry her tune – hopefully the next trailer will be a little more rousing. We want to hear the people sing!
