The Joy of Trailers

Timekeeping isn’t my strong point. I’m either very early for appointments or more usually – very late. I was even hideously late for a job interview once; luckily the interview panel was full of lovely people who excused my red face, poured me some water….

New Avengers Trailer

Marvel have released a new trailer for this summer’s superhero mash-up The Avengers and I think it’s looking pretty bloody good. Less emphasis on Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark/Iron Man and more of the rest of the team. Shame Jeremy Renner only got a couple of seconds but he’s certainly looking good as the next great action hero…

Bourne Legacy Trailer

Just a few days ago I made the (I think) quite bold claim that Jeremy Renner was likely to be the next big action hero, holding his own and even doing better than younger and more obvious actors like Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans…

Oscars 2012 Trailer

Awards season is fast approaching, the Golden Globes ceremony is only a few days away and excitement is building in Hollywood. I’ll admit it, excitement is building here too….

The Iron Lady Trailer Arrives

The full trailer for The Iron Lady, the Margaret Thatcher biopic has arrived online and it appears to show a fairly sympathetic portrayal of the former Prime Minister and her life. Early word came out on Twitter yesterday which seemed to imply that the Daily Mail critic enjoyed the film and the Guardian critic hated it. So no tribalism there then….

The Muppets Final Parody Trailer

If the new Muppets movie is half as good as its marketing then it’s going to be brilliant. Jason Segal is a sweetie and Amy Adams is possibly the most adorable actress working today – the pair seem to be a perfect fit for a Muppets film. Disney have released the final parody trailer ….

Tower Heist Trailer

When I attended the Empire Big Screen event earlier this year one of the exclusive trailers shown was for the new Eddie Murphy/Ben Stiller comedy Tower Heist about a group of good guys who decide to rob the rich banker who stole their pension funds….

Book Trailer – A Means of Escape

A trailer has been released for A Means of Escape Joanna Price’s great debut novel which I reviewed a couple of weeks ago. I’ve noticed that trailers – once the domain of the movie industry – are now becoming more and more widespread across a range of arts….

How To Become A Criminal Mastermind Trailer

One of the great things about the rise of social media is that it allows smaller authors and filmmakers the opportunity to promote their work without relying on big-budget publicity campaigns. I’m always keeping a look out for news of new books and films that might otherwise fall below the radar….

Forget Paris

This entry is part 22 of 30 in the series Raindance 2011

There’s something immensely irritating about people who are much younger than ourselves who are talented and accomplished. Jealousy is so ugly but there’s no other emotion available when faced with twenty-three year old Christopher Presswell, writer and director of the fantastically warped romantic comedy, Forget Paris …
