The title was the first thing that attracted me to this film. Cowboys AND Aliens in the one movie. That thought alone made it almost unmissable then I learned that Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford were the leading mean and that just sealed the deal for me ….
I’ve never heard of this before but there’s a dead heat at the top of the US box office. Both Cowboys & Aliens and The Smurfs have earned $36.2 million dollars on their opening weekend. I’m sure that over the next couple of days one or the other will take a lead but for the moment it’s a tie.
I don’t see this as a great result for Cowboys & Aliens – surely Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig would have been expected to beat some CGI little blue men?
There may have to be a new section on the website – TV reviews. Jilly Cooper is writing adaptations of her massively successful Rutshire Chronicles and a production company looks set to snap them up. I hope she starts right back at the beginning with Riders and Rivals and not with the weaker later novels. I’m already wondering who could play Rupert Campbell-Black… hmmm. Wonder if Daniel Craig is looking for a new franchise?
